1. How does the Universe in OGame look like?
The Universe consists of 9 galaxies. One galaxy consists of 499 solar systems. There are 15 planets in every system. Every galaxy, system and planet has its own number. Ordered numbers form the planet co-ordinates.
2. What's the difference between one universe and another?
Every universe is separated from the others, there's no communication between them because they're located on different servers. Main difference is coming into being. Universe 1 is the oldest and Universe 3 is the newest. There are Special Universes too. So far no Special Universe has been made in the American OGame.
3. Does travel take place along the line? To get from 1:1 system to 2:499 system I have to fly through all planets and systems of these 2 galaxies?
Although it seems that the galaxies are set in lines but in fact travel takes place differently. If you're flying from your system to another one in the same galaxy then the travel time and cost depend on the distance to the chosen system however it doesn't matter which planet you choose. If you're flying from your galaxy to another one travel time and cost depend on the chosen galaxy however it doesn't matter which system you choose. If you're moving inside your system it's only one rule - the further from you the longer the travel time and you pay more deuterium.
4. Do I use deuterium when I look from one system to the next?
Yes, every time you look from one system to the next you use 10 deuterium (you don't use deuterium for looking at your system). You can see your system when you click on "
Galaxy" section in your menu on the left side of your screen. You've got simple tools up above for skimming the galaxy.
5. I've got 10 deuterium and I can't see the Galaxy. Why?
You'll be able to do this when you have 11 deuterium. It's the result of delay between production, counting in the meter and delivering an information to the server.
6. I want to know where my friend is in the Galaxy. How can I do this while only using 10 deuterium?
Instead of looking around for him throughout the Galaxy you can use the "Search" section in your menu on the left side of your screen. Click it and type in his nick. Search will find him for you. Click on the co-ordinates of his mother planet and you'll be send to the Galaxy, to the system where your friend is. You'll lose only 10 deuterium depending if he's in the same galaxy as you.
7. Why some players have their nicks colored green, red, white or blue (violet)?
"Green" players are protected by "newb protection" so you can't attack or espionage them. "Red" players are too strong for you - they see you as "green". "White" players are on your level, you can attack and espionage them. "Blue (violet)" players have Vacation Mode turned on, you can't espionage or attack them.
8. What does the "Debris" column mean?
If this column has any metal or crystal in it, it's a sign that there's debris from destroyed fleet in the planet's orbit. When you move the cursor on this little picture you'll see how many metal and crystal are there. You can harvest this debris with recyclers.
9. What does the icons on the right side of every planet mean?
These are successively
- "page with eye in the middle" is "send espionage probe(s)" (their quantity may be changed in "Options" section in your menu).
- "page with stripes" is "write a message to the planet owner"
- "green spot" is for sending the person a "Buddy request"
- "page with rocket in the middle" is "Send an Interplanetary Missiles on the planet"
10. What does a star (*) on the right side of a planet mean. What does "45 min." mean instead of the star?
These are indicators of activity on a planet/moon.
- "star*" means that there was activity on the planet in last 15 minutes
- "45 min" means that there was activity on the planet 45 minutes ago
- "nothing" means that there wasn't any activity on the planet for an hour or longer
11. What does the letter "b" by the player's nick mean?
This player is banned. If he's blue too that means he got ban + vacation. If he's white and banned you can attack him but if he's blue - you can't.
12. I noticed that many players gave up playing the game and there are "i" and "I" letters by their nicks. Will they be removed from the game?
Yes, they'll be removed automatically after 35 days (5 weeks). Their planets will disappear and you will be able to colonize that slot.
13. What does "Destroyed planet" mean?
It means that a player has abandoned his colony. You can't colonize this planet. The inscription will disappear after 24 - 48 hours. After this time the planet is suitable for the next colonization.
14. I noticed a planet with no owner and name "Planet iI". What is it?
This happens when a player tries to colonize more than 8 colonies, you can only have have 8 colonies plus your main. If you try and colonize anymore colonies after that the planet will become iI. This planet disappear after about 24 hours.
15. Is there any possibility way to move from one Universe to another?
No, every Universe is closed. You can't move your account to another one. You can start a new account in each universe if you want to (but it will be hard to keep up with them all

...also remember you are allowed only one account per universe).
